Final Destination

H-hour is nearing fast.

Whispers rouse continuously on post as I stroll about in uniform. I know what they cry. It all comes down to, "He's in 10th Mountain. He must be leaving soon..."

“Year of the Monkey won’t be the same without you. You guys are what makes us come to work everyday. When you guys leave we will be missing a part of us. You will have it with you. When you’re overseas saying to yourself, ‘ Damn, this sucks!’ we’ll be back here saying ‘Damn, this sucks!’

It’s the little bit that let’s us know we’re going to be missed. It’s that feeling like I’m the reason business can resume as normal. The next time I post I will be in a far away land.

Till then,
